We are pleased to announce that we will be restarting our lessons at James Gillespie's High School on the 21st November. We have also introduced a number of safety measures (see below) to do as much as we can to make the lessons as safe as possible. These measures will be reviewed regularly and updated as needed.
The COVID-19 Health Questionnaire must be completed before bookings are confirmed (see below).
No parents are allowed to remain on poolside or in the changing rooms during lessons.
There is a limit of one adult per swimmer and, where possible, no siblings that are not attending lessons in the building.
There is a one way system in place, entering through the main entrance and exiting through the fire exit in the changing room.
Masks are required when moving around the building, including in the changing rooms and parents dropping off/picking up on poolside.
Teachers are only to teach in the pool where necessary (i.e. to assist a swimmer with a disability).
Where possible, swimmers are encouraged to arrive pool ready and shower at home.
Each half hour will be allocated to a section of the changing room. There will be signs up to specify each section.
Parents and swimmers are to arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of their lesson and wait at the entrance for a member of staff to allow access.
I think it's safe to say we'll be extremely glad to get back to teaching. It's been a long road but we are slowly getting back up and running.
