EAT. SLEEP. TEACH SWIMMING

Easing of restrictions

With the restrictions easing, we can start getting back to how the lessons ran pre-Covid. There will be some changes to the restrictions however some restrictions will remain in place.

What is changing:

  • The way we teach the lessons:

  1. Teachers that are fully vaccinated can go back to teaching in the pool for the Preschool, Foundation and, where required, Beginner levels.

  2. Teachers that have received the first vaccination and feel comfortable teaching in the pool can go back to teaching in the pool for the Preschool, Foundation and, where required, Beginner levels.

  3. Teachers that have not yet been vaccinated will still be required to teach from poolside for all levels.

  • Masks are no longer mandatory for under 12s. (For Edinburgh Leisure venues masks are still required for those aged 5 and over while they await clarification from Sport Scotland.)

  • Social distancing is no longer required in the changing rooms but please respect each other's space.

What is staying the same:

  • Parents will still not be able to remain on poolside or in changing rooms during lessons.

  • There will still be a limit of one adult per swimmer and, where possible, no siblings that are not attending lessons in the building.

  • Masks must still be worn when moving around the building for those aged 12 and over. For the moment masks are still required for those aged 5 and over in Edinburgh Leisure venues while they await clarification from Sport Scotland.

  • Swimmers are to arrive as close to their class start time as possible to minimise time spent in the changing rooms.

  • Where possible, swimmers are encouraged to arrive pool ready and shower at home. Showers will be available for a rinse down only.

We are beginning to get back to the pre-Covid ways but there is still a way to go before we are completely back to pre-Covid. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
